Dr. Beymer received a bachelor's degree in History from Northwest Nazarene College, Idaho (USA) in 1964. He earned a masters degree in Religion from Warner Pacific College in 1978, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Portland State University, Oregon (USA) in 1982, and a Ph.D. in Urban Studies from Portland State University in 1989. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Business at Montreat College in North Carolina.

His main research interests focus on applied management theory and the development of ethical leadership.
